How He Loves Us
It’s been quite some time. since I have written and for that I am sorry. I know for some they have been looking for a next post for some time now. Others maybe this is your first time to this site, and wondering what I am referring too? These post are the expressions and sharing of Gods provision to myself, as I continue to pursue his Call on my life to study. He provided for me last semester and has continued to provide coming into the new semester! Last semester my bills were provided for by gifts of friends and family, and through the job he provided for me. Over the winter break I stayed in Louisville to work. I was able to go home for Christmas this winter and it was amazing to see the family. Now I am back and the first week of school has is coming to a close. I am taking only to classes this semester, mainly for financial reasons. I have also recently moved off campus and into an apartment with two other guys, Jon and Kyle. This transition has been great. I am really enjoying living with these brothers and learning how to deal with life outside of a christian school.
As I enter into the new semester one major issue that remains always at the forefront is the financial aspect. God has provided me with a great job where I am able to engage people missional and also be used as a means of provision for school. Honestly though, with it being post holiday season hours have drastically been cut so that necessarily forces me to come back to the Lord, giver of all things and be reminded its not my job that is my salvation or provision but the Lord himself. It is encouraging but also difficult at times to swallow. When you have a means of provision that is dependent on you the temptation is ever so strong to rely on the blessing, and not the giver of blessings. So I will say once again as it was before I moved here this is a very sanctifying experience and for that I am thankful, because it just shows “How He Loves Us” its insane! I know he will be faithful in his provision, and I believe he intends to draw me closer to him through the process, and that is very exciting!
My total bill for school will be around $1765.00 divided into four monthly payments. On top of that I will be paying rent of roughly $280.
Right now God has already done amazing things! I began praying about my financial state on a monday, just specifically asking the Lord to continue to do as he has so faithfully done my whole life, and for him to continue to do so. Just that next day I received letter from my Aunt, we had talked over Christmas about me getting them some ipods. What I found in the card was $300 and they had decided they didnt need to get the ipods and wanted to support me being away at school on faith. The day after I begin praying for the Lords provision! Absolutely nuts! But it doesn’t stop there, that same week, my Grandma sent me a check for $150 to go towards my $1000 loan I took out last semester!
Then setting all that aside, when my roommates and I moved in to our apartment we were giving so much! We were given a four piece wooden kitchen table, two couches, and nearly over 350 dollars worth in kitchen supplies! That was just incredible! we were given so much by people!
Life truly have been amazing and the Lord continues to ceaselessly amaze me as he continues to prove “How He Loves Us”
As I close I just want to ask for your prayer. Thats the most important thing you could offer me!
-First would be the Financial condition I am in, that the Lord would provide for me, but not more then I need. But just enough so that I may stay on my knees and continually rely on him for provision.
-Second would be for direction with work, one side of that would be my ministry opportunities and taking advantage of those more zealously. but also on another side of things do I pursue the idea of a second job?
-Third that in all of this and everything outside of this His glory will be made huge!
We can talk about all these different things that he does for us, and how he helped us stop the mouths of lions and put foreign armies to flight and provide for us in our desperate times of need. Because he does do that! But if we don’t realize that he does it and reveals it to us so that we may lift him high and make him huge for how great he is, then we are missing the point. And if theres anything i’d never want, it’d be for someone to read this post and miss the point. The point of this post is not about me, its about how the Sovereign God who gets to look huge because of all he accomplishes in my little circumstance.
I do want to leave you with a few passages that have recently been greatly encouraging.
Psalms 37:23
Proverbs 30:7-9
As I said before I did recently move. So if you want to send postcards! go for it! I also love homemade cookies.:D
